Things have been pretty busy lately and I have not exactly been keeping up with this.
There has not had a whole lot of feedback yet, and I am not surprised. To actually do some of these things is very hard to do as many would involve a lot of work. So, I hope that if nothing else, these ideas can inspire people to think differently about their music.
What It Is
Know More Noise is a web log created by Ryan Serrano to help musicians and aspiring musicians exercise their musical attributes. Musicians can complete assignments based around studies on, for example, composers, photographs, ideas, genres, instruments, etc., all for the sake of gaining new experience.
The idea for this site spawned from two places: a website called Learning To Love You More, and my own recently developed hobby of doing music studies on particular things, places, people, etc. LTLYM is based on the premise that it is good to try new things. The projects assigned to the general public are, "intended to guide people to their own experience." Know More Noise has adopted this principle of being guided to new experience. The experiences, however, are intended to be musically inspiring.
How To Do
The idea here is to learn and have fun. Music is a subject where there is infinite knowledge to be acquired. The projects assigned here are designed to inspire and help guide the music learning process.
Do any of the assignments any way you so choose. If you have the means to, submit your assignments by emailing them or posting them as comments under the assignment. I will figure out a way to post the assignments on here.
